Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania)

Vytautas Magnus University (University of Lithuania until 1930) was founded in 1922 in Kaunas and served as the only academic institution in interwar Lithuania. Shut down in 1949, the university was reestablished at the eve of Lithuanian independence from the Soviet Union in 1989. Vytautas Magnus University is now one of the main academic institutions of Lithuania.
